Softball Recap: Orange Park's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Orange Park can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Bolles Bulldogs by a score of 9-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Avery Louque spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, Zoe Pascoe was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Toledo, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Orange Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.

Orange Park's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Bolles, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coming up, Orange Park will head out to challenge Bishop Snyder at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Snyder will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Orange Park surely won't give up without a fight. Bolles will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mandarin at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th.
