Dunbar is 8-2 against Meadowdale since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dunbar Wolverines will be staying on the road to face off against the Meadowdale Lions at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact Dunbar proved on Tuesday. They strolled past Stivers School for the Arts with points to spare, taking the game 64-50. Given Dunbar's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Stivers School for the Arts is ranked 548th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eric Brewer jr was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-8 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Baron White was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Meadowdale slipped by Ponitz Career Tech 65-64 on Tuesday. The win was just what Meadowdale needed coming off of a 106-73 loss in their prior game.
Dunbar's record is now 9-5. Meadowdale's record now sits at 4-10.
Dunbar came up short against Meadowdale in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 72-68. Can Dunbar avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
