The Hunters Lane Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of McGavock. Hunters Lane was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McGavock apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Hunters Lane had strong showings from Michael Small, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Nehemiah Cartwright, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was James Davis, who scored seven points.
Hunters Lane dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for McGavock, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hunters Lane will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cane Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. One thing working in Cane Ridge's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. McGavock will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hillsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hillsboro will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
