Ledyard has gone 9-1 against Wheeler recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Colonels will be playing at home against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ledyard comes in on four and Wheeler on three.
Ledyard is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since April 10th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Stonington, sneaking past 4-2.
Alexia Lemmon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Bonser, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Starling, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Wheeler made easy work of Windham on Saturday and carried off a 23-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Victoria Kleeman looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Wheeler got a massive performance out of Abby Butremovic, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Deledda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Wheeler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Ledyard pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Wheeler, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ledyard has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wheeler struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Ledyard couldn't quite get it done against Wheeler when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 12-8. Can the Colonels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
