Basketball Recap: Holly Springs Gets the Win

Holly Springs won the last time they faced Apex, and Amy Lissow did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Holly Springs Golden Hawks' way against the Apex Cougars on Friday as the Holly Springs Golden Hawks made off with a 62-38 victory thanks to Lissow, who went 7-for-12 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Kaylin Washburn was another key player, putting up five points. What's more, she also posted two steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Holly Springs' win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Apex, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-21 record this season.

Holly Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Apex, they will challenge Apex Friendship at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Apex Friendship is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season.
