The Centennial Coyotes will head out on the road to take on the Ironwood Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Centennial scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Apollo 61-40. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Centennial considering their 23-point performance the match before.
It was another big night for Akasha Prpich, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 4 assists. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Centennial's points. Katelyn Mccort was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ironwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 57-26 defeat at the hands of Willow Canyon. Ironwood has struggled against Willow Canyon recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Centennial's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Ironwood, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Centennial against Ironwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 52-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
