The Chattanooga Central Pounders will challenge the Marion County Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chattanooga Central has four straight victories, Marion County has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Chattanooga Central barely beat Cumberland County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pounders never let the Jets get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Pounders, who have now won 15 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kaitlynn Cunningham was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Cunningham was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Myra Kouris and Navaeh Frank did most of the damage at the plate: Kouris went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Frank went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Carli Morgan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
East Hamilton hit Marion County with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hurricanes.
Marion County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma McCallie, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Chattanooga Central's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Marion County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
Chattanooga Central couldn't quite finish off Marion County in their previous matchup back in March and fell 10-8. Will the Pounders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
