The Temecula Prep Patriots won the last time they faced the San Jacinto Valley Academy Wolves, and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went Temecula Prep's way against the Wolves as the Patriots made off with a 75-52 win.
Temecula Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from J.T. Rogers, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Rogers hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Leon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, San Jacinto Valley Academy saw an underclassman step up: Carter Kelly scored ten points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Alexander Meza, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, San Jacinto Valley Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of 14 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Temecula Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temecula Prep will challenge the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nuview Bridge is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for San Jacinto Valley Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cubs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in California School for the Deaf-Riverside's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Wolves have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
