6A District 6 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Brenan Kuntz and Grant Wassom provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Boone County. The connection was good for 95 yards, the longest such play in 6A District 6 this season.
Simon Kenton took down the Rebels 38-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kuntz threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 54 yards in the win.
The Pioneers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Andrew Sampson chipped in 60 yards. Jacob Huesman helped Simon Kenton's passing attack out by catching five balls for 71 yards.
Wassom was the best wideout in the league this week as Simon Kenton beat Boone County. Wassom tallied three receptions for 122 yards.
Simon Kenton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kuntz has thrown for 1574 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while Wassom has 31 catches for 494 yards. Sampson leads the league in rushing with 583 yards.
A big matchup in 6A District 6 this week will be when Campbell County takes on Ryle. The Camels are in second place, while the Raiders are in third place.
Campbell County and Dixie Heights played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Campbell County eventually emerging with a 36-32 victory.
