Central Valley is 1-9 against the Grizzlies since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Central Valley Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Lassen Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. Central Valley has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 2.
Central Valley pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 82-57 defeat at the hands of University Prep. While losing is never fun, Central Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1345th, while the Panthers are ranked 365th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Hunter Sanderson, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kanin Harris, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Lassen came up short against the Panthers on Wednesday and fell 59-50. It was the first time this season that Lassen let down their fans at home.
Central Valley dropped their record down to 2-24 with that defeat, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lassen, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-11.
Central Valley was dealt a bruising 57-18 defeat at the hands of the Grizzlies in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lassen's Zach Hart, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals. Now that Central Valley knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
