The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Alcorn Central came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in Mississippi, while Shoals Christian is ranked 129th in Alabama).
Sarah Davis (2025) continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shoals Christian, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 29 rebounds. The game was Davis (2025)'s sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Alcorn Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Shoals Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
