The Novinger Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 97-35 loss at the hands of Meadville. Novinger was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-13.
Meadville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Carvajal, who dropped a triple-double on 23 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Carvajal is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Korrie Holcer was another key contributor, shooting 5-for-12 from long range and dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten assists.
Novinger dropped their record down to 6-13 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Meadville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.
Novinger will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 15th. Brashear has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Meadville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop LeBlond will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
