In what's become a running theme this season, the Haines City Hornets gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 64-13 victory over Mater Brighton Lakes Academy at home. The win was just what Haines City needed coming off of a 70-45 defeat in their prior matchup.
Arissa Jenkins was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Amari Thomas, who scored 13 points.
Haines City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season. As for Mater Brighton Lakes Academy, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
Haines City will square off against Spruce Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Spruce Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Davenport at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. Davenport is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.4 points per game.
