After a string of six wins, the Van Buren Pointers's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were dealt a 70-33 defeat at the hands of Bethany. Van Buren was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.
Leading Bethany to victory were Zya Vann and Keziah Lofton. Vann scored 24 points along with 7 steals, while Lofton scored 23 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lofton has scored at least 25% of Bethany's points. Talia Vann was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Van Buren's loss dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Bethany, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
