Tate is 2-7 against Escambia since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tate Aggies will head out on the road to face off against the Escambia Gators at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Tate came up short against Gulf Breeze and fell 27-20. Tate has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Tate got a solid performance out of ANDRE COLSTON, who rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Meanwhile, Escambia's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 14-7 to Pine Forest. Escambia gained 101 more yards on the day, but it was Pine Forest that made the best of use of them.
Tate's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Escambia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Tate came up short against Escambia when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 38-31. Thankfully for Tate, Ammiel Steele (who threw for 364 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
