On Friday, The Ephrata Mountaineers got themselves on the board against the Muhlenberg Muhls, but the Muhlenberg Muhls never followed suit. They really took it to the Muhls for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-0 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Ephrata, who have now won five games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Leading Ephrata to victory were Sam McCracken and Brayden Brown. McCracken threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while Brown rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Brown was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Angel Collazo-Colon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win (which was Ephrata's third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34 points. As for Muhlenberg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ephrata will take on Elizabethtown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elizabethtown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Ephrata is ranked 105th). As for Muhlenberg, they will be playing at home against Conestoga Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Conestoga Valley is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
