Walton has been on the road for seven straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet Denmark at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Walton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Walton didn't have too much trouble with Blessed Trinity on the road as they won 60-45.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Renee Radovich, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Layla Varghese was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Denmark's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Buford 85-30. While losing is never fun, Denmark can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Buford is ranked 22nd).
The win got Walton back to even at 4-4. As for Denmark, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Walton came up short against Denmark in their previous meeting back in November, falling 55-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Denmark's Avery Huffman, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Now that Walton knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
