Slippery Rock has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Sharon has won seven straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Rockets will welcome the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Slippery Rock needed a bit of extra time to put away Grove City. They skirted past the Eagles 10-8.
Jacob Kunsman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Parker Dalcamo was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Doug Popovec was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Sharon made easy work of Franklin on Monday and carried off a 12-1 victory. The matchup marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.
Ethan Engelmore looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Sharon got a massive performance out of Derek Douglas, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases marked the first that Douglas snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Carmine Thomas, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2.
Sharon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sharon's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Slippery Rock, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Slippery Rock has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sharon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
