Bard Early College has not had much luck with HEARTS for Jesus Christ recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Maria Cottenden was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds for HEARTS for Jesus Christ. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cottenden has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Zelenka, who scored six points along with 17 rebounds and six assists.
Bard Early College bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.4 points per game. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Bard Early College won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Glenville at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. HEARTS for Jesus Christ will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central Christian at 6:30 p.m. on February 8th.
