Two dominant backs in Maddux Reid and Caiden Collins are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Parish Episcopal Panthers will be playing at home against the Prestonwood Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Parish Episcopal had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-28 victory over Trinity Christian. 56 seems to be a good number for Parish Episcopal as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Parish Episcopal relied on the efforts of Sawyer Anderson, who threw for 251 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes, and Reid, who rushed for 182 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Reid really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Jaylen Pile was another key contributor, picking up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Prestonwood Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five two weeks ago. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bishop Lynch 69-21 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prestonwood Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Collins, who rushed for 176 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Collins hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Kellen Tasby, who threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes.
Parish Episcopal's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.33 points. As for Prestonwood Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as Parish Episcopal and Prestonwood Christian have no problem gaining yardage. Parish Episcopal has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 363.3 total yards per game. However, it's not like Prestonwood Christian struggles in that department as they've been even better at 447.8 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Everything went Parish Episcopal's way against Prestonwood Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Parish Episcopal made off with a 38-14 win.
