Klondike has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Wink Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-29, which was the final score in Klondike's tilt against Valley on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Klondike has scored all season.
Wink has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Buena Vista 46-14 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Wink as they're now sitting on four straight.
Aizlyn Dewberry was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Wink's points. Another player making a difference was Crystal Quiroz, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Klondike's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Wink, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Klondike against Wink in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 56-26 victory. Does Klondike have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wink turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
