Basketball Game Preview: Legend Titans vs. Regis Jesuit Raiders

Legend hasn't had much luck against Regis Jesuit recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Legend Titans are taking a road trip to face off against the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Legend blew past Heritage, posting a 72-19 victory. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Mason Borcherding, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. What's more, she also racked up six assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Maile Starns was another key player, going 5 for 11 on her way to 10 points and four steals.

Legend smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 71-27 win over the Mustangs. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Mustangs are ranked 238th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Legend is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Regis Jesuit, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Legend and Regis Jesuit were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, but Legend came up empty-handed after a 54-53 loss. Can Legend avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
