Basketball Recap: Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Takes a Loss

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Sacramento Waldorf Waves, falling 46-18. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Fire Wolves struggled afterwards.

Liam Mason Mellberg continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sacramento Waldorf, putting up 17 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Mason Mellberg a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malachi Miranda, who posted six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Sacramento Waldorf, the win was the 14th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning will host Victory Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victory Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning likes a good challenge. As for Sacramento Waldorf, they will be playing at home against Foresthill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sacramento Waldorf's defense has only allowed 25.8 points per game this season, so Foresthill's offense will have their work cut out for them.
