Shades Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodlawn Colonels on Friday, sneaking past 15-12. The Mounties haven't had any issues with the Colonels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Shades Valley found their leader in sophomore Quincy Poole, who rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown.

Coming up, Shades Valley will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Leeds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodlawn, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Bessemer City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
