It was a good run, but The Butler Aviators unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by Wapakoneta 42-7. Butler was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Leading Wapakoneta to victory were Caleb Moyer and Jace Knous. Moyer rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Knous rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Moyer was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards.
Butler's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Wapakoneta, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-2.
Butler does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wapakoneta will head out on the road to face off against Badin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Badin will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
