Wabash hasn't had much luck against Logansport recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Apaches will take on the Berries at 5:30 p.m. Wabash is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Wabash's last matchup with Northwestern could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Apaches lost 10-1 to the Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Apaches have suffered since April 21, 2025.
Meanwhile, Logansport hadn't done well against Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Berries sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Saints. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Easton Sweet tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Logansport's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kuper Jones, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Jones a new career-high. Arron Franco also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Logansport is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Wabash, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wabash has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Logansport struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wabash came up short against Logansport in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, falling 8-4. Can the Apaches avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
