It was a good run, but the Tanner Rattlers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of West Limestone by a score of 61-59. Tanner was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Tanner lost, one person who can't be blamed is Skylar Townsend. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Dorning, who scored nine points.
Tanner's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for West Limestone, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Tanner will be playing at home against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses. West Limestone does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
