The Valley Patriots entered their tilt with the Silverton Owls with 27 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 28. Valley took down the Owls 48-29 on Tuesday. Given Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Owls are ranked 501st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity Schlueter was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Valley's points. Laney Edwards was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Valley's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Silverton, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.
Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Silverton, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Bucks at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
