Wausau West is 2-7 against Stevens Point since August of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wausau West Warriors are on the road again and play against the Stevens Point Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on October 20th.
Last Friday, Wausau West was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 13-7 to D.C. Everest.
Meanwhile, Stevens Point had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 56-6 victory over Appleton West. The result was nothing new for Stevens Point, who have now won five matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Stevens Point's victory bumped their season record to 8-1 while Wausau West's defeat dropped theirs to 7-2.
Wausau West might still be hurting after the 27-7 loss they got from Stevens Point in their previous meeting back in September. Can Wausau West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
