Jake Cenname was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Anthony Chieco was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Chittenango, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Cazenovia on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Evan Tianello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Eli Lefort was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Kielbasa, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
The win got Chittenango back to even at 3-3. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Vernon-Verona-Sherrill came up short against Chittenango in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 8-3. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
