Maryvale snuck past the Falcons with a 58-53 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Maryvale.
Maryvale found their leader in underclassman Adrian Stubbs, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Devin Murphy, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Carl Hayden Community lost, one person who can't be blamed is Santino Esquivel. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tion Wright, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Maryvale's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Carl Hayden Community, they dropped their record down to 10-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
