The Lorena Leopards had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Yoakum 45-7 at home. Winning may never get old, but Lorena sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Braylon Henry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 191 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Henry hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaden Roberts, who threw for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Another reason for the win was Lorena's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Seth Taverner and his two sacks.
Lorena has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.3 points per game. As for Yoakum, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Lorena will square off against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Yoakum does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
