After a string of four wins, the Florida State University High School Seminoles's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. The match between Florida State University High School and Winter Haven wasn't particularly close, with Florida State University High School falling 85-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (62), Florida State University High School still had to take the loss.
Several Seminoles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terrell "TJ" Baker, who scored 18 points along with eight assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amare Robinson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winter Haven to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Celiscar, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Celiscar is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cezanne Mosley, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Florida State University High School's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Winter Haven, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florida State University High School's road trip will continue as they head out to face The Rock National at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Winter Haven, they will face off against Orlando Christian Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Orlando Christian Prep is on a three-game streak of home wins, Winter Haven a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
