Globe is 0-3 against Valley Christian since April of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Globe Tigers will face off against the Valley Christian Trojans at 6:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Globe was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Alchesay. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Braden Wager made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wager was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaeger Franco, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Braxton Tober also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian is still undefeated this season after their match against Perry on Thursday, but Perry came as close as anyone has to beating them. Valley Christian came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against Perry.
Manny Macias looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Derek Arold and Caleb Danzeisen did most of the damage at the plate: Arold went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Danzeisen went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Carson Grier was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Globe's record now sits at 3-5. As for Valley Christian, their record now sits at 6-0.
Globe might still be hurting after the 22-0 loss they got from Valley Christian in their previous meeting last Thursday. Can Globe avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
