Belgrade had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Butte Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Belgrade took Butte into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 15-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belgrade will head out to challenge Big Sky at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Butte, they will venture away from home to face off against Billings Senior at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
