Lakeview not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16th (when they won 14-1). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Champion Golden Flashes a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won six games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Eli Gough was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Stuart, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Lakeview's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Champion, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeview will face off against Girard at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Champion, they will take on Garfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
