The Hazelwood East Spartans typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the MICDS Rams proved too difficult a challenge. Everything went MICDS's way against Hazelwood East as MICDS made off with a 35-14 win. MICDS's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Brian Gould was his usual excellent self, rushing for 107 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 203 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Gould was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Graham Faust also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was MICDS's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Lucas Allgeyer and his two sacks.
The victory (which was MICDS's third in a row) raised their record to 9-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Hazelwood East, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.
MICDS will square off against Cardinal Ritter College Prep at TBD on Friday. Cardinal Ritter College Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Hazelwood East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
