The Buckfield Bucks will head out on the road to square off against the Carrabec Cobras at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Buckfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Buckfield came out on top against Rangeley Lakes on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Bucks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lakers a 10-0 shutout. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Lakers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Ryder Bragg, who earned one RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases. He is becoming a predictor of Buckfield's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Verrill, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Buckfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rangeley Lakes struck out eight times.
Forest Hills hit Carrabec with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cobras lost 12-1 to the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Cobras couldn't push the score so high this time.
Carrabec saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Caldwell, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Caldwell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Carrabec has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Buckfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Buckfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Carrabec struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Buckfield took their victory against Carrabec when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 9-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
