Churubusco was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss. They fell  3-1 to the Fairfield Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the  3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2024.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 20-25,  25-16.
 Kelsee Coil paced Churubusco's offense, picking up 16 kills. Coil got some help from  Alyssa Marks and her 23 assists. Coil was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
Churubusco's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Fairfield, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-13.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Churubusco will  face off against  rival Central Noble  at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile, Fairfield is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Lakeland  at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
