Baseball Recap: First Assembly Christian Comes Up Short

First Assembly Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Arlington on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-7. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

Christian Forrest made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

First Assembly Christian's record now sits at 7-14-1. As for Arlington, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Assembly Christian will head out to square off against Harding Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Arlington, they will venture away from home to face off against Germantown at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.73 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
