Enumclaw came tearing into Monday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Decatur Golden Gators with a sharp 11-1 victory. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Golden Gators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.
Alyssa Harris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 19 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Enumclaw got a massive performance out of Ava Lim, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave Lim a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Neal, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Enumclaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Enumclaw pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Decatur, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enumclaw will face off against Auburn Mountainview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Decatur, they will take on Federal Way at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.25 runs per game on average), something the Golden Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
