If the Wake Prep Academy Guardians were feeling good off their 43-21 takedown of the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wake Prep Academy took a serious blow against Vance Charter on Tuesday, falling 54-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wake Prep Academy has scored all season.
Abriella Waige was Wake Prep Academy's leading scorer, having posted three points.
Alyssa Bullock was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds for Vance Charter. Bullock is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caelyn Bunn, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Wake Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Vance Charter, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Wake Prep Academy will head out on the road to face off against Wayne Preparatory Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Vance Charter, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oxford Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Oxford Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 486th, while Vance Charter is ranked 189th).
