Loomis is 8-0 against Franklin since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Loomis Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Franklin Flyers at 7:45 p.m. Loomis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Franklin likes a good challenge.
Last Thursday, Loomis didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Alma, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Cale Nelson and Zavier Mitchell. Nelson had a solid game and scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Meanwhile, Mitchell did his best for the losing side, scoring five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Franklin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They fell just short of Heartland Lutheran by a score of 41-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Franklin has suffered yet this season.
Loomis pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
Loomis strolled past Franklin in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 57-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Loomis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
