Northridge is a perfect 7-0 against Logan since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Grizzlies at 11:00 a.m. Northridge has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight losses, while Logan will come in with four straight wins.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Northridge and Viewmont, and Viewmont kept the tradition alive. The Knights came up short against the Vikings on Wednesday, falling 10-2.
Braylynn McClellan and Berklee Larsen stepped up to the plate in a big way. McClellan went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Larsen went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Logan got themselves on the board against Sky View on Friday, but Sky View never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 11-0 victory. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Norah Zundel looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had over her last eight games.
At the plate, Miley Allen was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since April 1st. Quincy Schaefer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Logan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Logan's win bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Northridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Logan struggles in that department as they've averaged .338. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Northridge's way against Logan in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Northridge made off with a 16-3 victory. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
