The J.R. Tucker Tigers fell victim to the Thomas Jefferson Vikings''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Vikings 53-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for J.R. Tucker in their matchups with Thomas Jefferson: they've now lost seven in a row.
Thomas Jefferson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ty-keycee Parker led the charge by rushing for 139 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Parker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashaud Cherry, who rushed for 13 yards and two touchdowns.
Thomas Jefferson's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Rodney(rj) Allen and his two sacks.
J.R. Tucker's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Thomas Jefferson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-0.
