The Southwest Roughriders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Southwest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to Hitchcock County. Southwest has struggled against Hitchcock County recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nathan Rippe, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Jakub Walz,, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wauneta-Palisade had to suffer through a rough 64-30 loss at the hands of Cambridge. Wauneta-Palisade has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losses dropped Southwest to 0-3 and Hitchcock County to 1-1.
Everything went Southwest's way against Wauneta-Palisade in their previous meeting back in January as Southwest made off with a 48-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
