Baseball Game Preview: Spotswood Chargers vs. Middlesex Bluejays

For the second straight game, Spotswood will face off against Middlesex. The Chargers will host the Bluejays at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Spotswood needed a bit of extra time to put away Middlesex. They skirted past the Bluejays 10-8. The win was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Spotswood let Brandon Rivera and Will Buchan run wild. Rivera went 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double, while Buchan got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Rivera a new career-high. Gavin Romeo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Middlesex and nudges their season record down to 5-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Spotswood, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
