After soaring to 38 points the game before, The Lowry Buckaroos were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were dealt a 41-7 defeat at the hands of Churchill County. Lowry lost against Churchill County in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-0 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Lowry lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Guzman. Despite the final result, he picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown. Guzman's longest reception was for an incredible 77 yards.
Roland Grondin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Churchill County, rushing for 192 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Grondin is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Brady Alves also helped out with an impressive 152 receiving yards.
Lowry's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Churchill County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Lowry will head out on the road to face off against Churchill County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Churchill County, they will be playing at home against Lowry at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Lowry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Friday.
