The Berry Cardinal entered their game against the Myers Park Mustangs on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Berry had to suffer through a rough 59-6 loss at the hands of Myers Park. While losing is never fun, Berry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Myers Park is ranked 27th).
Wendell Thompson was on fire for Myers Park: he threw for 250 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Josh Falzarano, who gained 125 total yards.
Berry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Myers Park, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-3.
Berry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Myers Park is also done with their season.
