The Corsicana Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They fell 33-26 to Joshua. Corsicana lost against Joshua in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-28 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Corsicana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Darelle Smith. Despite the final result, he rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Smith's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Will Koller was on fire for Joshua: he rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Justin Tullis, who rushed for 127 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Corsicana's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.8 points per game. As for Joshua, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9.
Corsicana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Joshua also has no future games currently scheduled.
